About Me

Lisa Carter has been a public servant her entire life. Lisa served 27 years with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. After retiring, she served a term with an AmeriCorps program at Wayne State University, where she currently has served for nearly 10 years as a Program Manager and mentor for youth ages 17-24. She is also in her 3rd term with the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners, where she has served in leadership roles as Chair and Vice Chair. Lisa Carter will use her years of law enforcement experience and community engagement skills to help the District grow stronger together.
